Andrew Lloyd Webber suffered a devastating loss in 2023 when his son Nicholas died at the age of 43 following a battle with stomach cancer. The family shared the news of Nicholas’ passing in a heartbreaking statement. “I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital,” Andrew said to People on March 25, 2023. “His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft,” the legendary composer added. “Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time.”

Nicolas was Andrew’s second child from his first marriage to Sarah Hugill. The former couple also had an older daughter Imogen. They would go on to divorce in 1983, after 12 years of marriage. He then wed soprano Sarah Brightman, who later starred as the lead in his ‘Phantom of the Opera,’ in 1984 and divorced her six years later. They did not have any children together, however, with his next wife, Madeleine Gurdon, Andrew added three more children to the brood: Alastair, William and Isabella. Imogen

Andrew and Sarah welcomed their first child together, daughter Imogen, on March 31, 1977.  She couldn’t shake the Broadway baby in her as she followed in her father’s Great White Way footsteps. As a writer and producer, Imogen is known for “The Broadway.com Show” (2013), “The Tony Beat” (2016) and “Broadway.com 2016 Tony Awards Special”(2016), per her IMDB.

Imogen was also a contributor to MSNBC, and was regularly seen on the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network as a political commentator. She’s also an author, writing The Single Girl’s Survival Guide in 2007. And her Instagram is full of amazing snaps with her father!

Nicholas

Nicholas, born on July 2, 1979, followed in his father’s footsteps, and was a Grammy nominated composer and record producer. He wrote The Little Prince in 2011 and the recent Fat Friends The Musical. He was also the composer for six episodes of the BBC drama “Love, Lies and Records,” and he composed the music for the film The Last Bus, per IMDb. Nicolas is survived by his wife Polly Wiltshire, who he wed in 2018.

Alastair

Alastair is the oldest son from Andrew’s marriage to Madeleine. He was born on May 3, 1992. He was a music manager before becoming a director at The Other Songs Limited.

He also has an active social media presence. On his Instagram, he shared a very recent and rare snap with his little brother Billy! “Being brothers helps immeasurably – we are more solid than ever and have a shared vision,” he wrote alongside the snap of Billy in New York City.

William

As mentioned, William, aka Billy, is also in the music field, and working with his big brother, Alastair. Born on May 3, 1992, Billy has kept a very private profile in his public life. He also keeps his social media accounts on private at this time.

Isabella

The youngest of Andrew’s brood was born April 30, 1996. Isabella is a creative director of her own company Bella Webber, which she set up in 2021. Like her older brother Billy, she keeps a low profile on social media as well, and not much is known publicly about her.

Brian Cox, 76, is making headlines after commenting on Rupert Murdoch‘s engagement at the age of 92. The Succession star made light of the media mogul’s decision to get married to his girlfriend Ann Lesley Smith, 66, after they’ve been dating for six months, during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show on Friday. “Good luck!” Brian exclaimed when asked what he thought about Rupert’s upcoming nuptials, according to Daily Mail.

Brian’s comment about Rupert’s engagement comes after the Australian-born businessman, who’s been married four times before, announced the big news in an interview with his publication, the New York Post. He admitted that he was “nervous” about asking Ann to marry him, but he is “confident” that their marriage will be his “last.”

“I was very nervous. I dreaded falling in love — but I knew this would be my last. It better be. I’m happy,” he told the outlet. He also confirmed that they plan to say “I do” in late summer of this year.

As Rupert gets ready to walk down the aisle for a fifth time, Brian just finished filming his fourth and final season of Succession. He talked about the HBO show’s writer, Jesse Armstrong, and what it feels like to be walking away from the highly successful series in which he plays father and rich businessman Logan Roy. “You have finite television and you have infinite television that goes on and on well past its sell by date,” he said. “He’s [Jesse] known the curve of this thing from way back.”

“I think it’s going to be difficult for people. They become so addicted to the show,” he continued. “They don’t know why they like it as much as they do, there’s a lot of hateful people… that’s what audiences like, that horribleness of people.”

Brian, who stars on Succession alongside Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and more, also confirmed that season four will be “a rollercoaster” and is sure to keep fans on their toes. “There’s a lot of stuff in it… I still can’t work it out,” he explained. “There’s been a remarkable closeness with all of us. I don’t really mind the show ending, but it’s the people, the folk. The crew, the wonderful camera operators… It’s the whole shebang. The whole lot. It’s the best thrill in the world, sad when it’s over.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber paid tribute to his son Nicholas in an emotional statement after his death at 43 on Saturday, March 35. The Phantom of the Opera composer, 74, honored his son following his passing from gastric cancer. “I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital,” Andrew said in a statement to PEOPLE magazine on Saturday, March 25. “His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft. Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time,” the 75 year old also said.

Andrew had shared the news that his son was battling cancer after he missed the previews and opening performances of his brand new musical Bad Cinderella in March. Along with announcing that he would miss the performances, he also said that the whole family was hoping that Nicholas would recover. “I am absolutely devastated to say that my eldest son Nick is critically ill. As my friends and family know, he has been fighting gastric cancer for the last 18 months and Nick is now hospitalised,” he said in a statement to BroadwayWorld. “We are all praying that Nick will turn the corner. He is bravely fighting with his indomitable humour, but at the moment my place is with him and the family.”

With the news that Nicholas was battling stomach cancer, the Bad Cinderella cast shared best wishes for Andrew and his family in a tweet. “The cast and company of Bad Cinderella send their love, thoughts and prayers to Andrew and the Lloyd Webber family,” they wrote.

Like his dad, Nick was also a composer, having scored films like The Last Bus and the TV series Love, Lies, and Records. He also composed the music for the theatrical productions Fat Friends: The Musical and a 2016 adaptation of The Little Prince. He was also a record producer, notably working alongside his dad on his Symphonic Suites album and Cinderella cast album.

Nicholas was Andrew’s second child and his oldest son. The composer shared him with his first wife Sarah Hugill, who he was married to from 1971 to 1983. The couple also had a daughter Imogen, 45. After the divorce, Andrew wed soprano Sarah Brightman, who went on to star in many of his musicals, including Phantom of the Opera. He and Brightman were married from 1984 to 1990. The news of Nick’s cancer diagnosis came months after it was announced that Andrew’s signature show Phantom of the Opera would close on Broadway after 35 years, making it the longest-running show on Broadway. The company had announced the production would end in a video in September 2022. The show later announced that it would extend its time in New York due to the increased demand in November. The show will run until April 16.

1. Nicholas was also a composer

Nicholas took after his dad in many ways. Most notably, Nicholas seemed to inherit his father’s musical ear, and he composed a number of different works of his own. His two most notable theatrical works were a 2016 adaptation of The Little Prince and 2017’s Fat Friends: The Musical.

2. He was a producer for many of his dad’s projects

Outside of his own compositions, Nicholas was also a record producer and many of his biggest projects involved his dad’s works. He was a producer on his dad’s 2021 album Symphonic Suites, which featured some of the composer’s pieces from Evita, Phantom of the Opera, and Sunset Boulevard, per Discogs. He was also a producer for the Cinderella cast album from that same year.

3. He married Polly Wiltshire in 2018

Nick is survived by his wife Polly Wiltshire, who he wed in 2018. Polly also has a musical background, as she’s an incredibly talented viola player. She has performed on some of the pieces that her husband has produced and a wide array of different albums and musical theater performances over the years, per AllMusic. 

4. He scored a number of different film projects

Outside of musicals, Nick has also been able to score a few different movies. Besides a few different shorts, he was also the composer for six episodes of the BBC drama Love, Lies and Records, and he composed the music for the movie The Last Bus, per IMDb. 

5. Andrew missed the opening of ‘Bad Cinderella’ while his son was receiving treatment

After Nicholas had been hospitalized for cancer, his dad released a statement sharing that he wouldn’t be able to attend some of his opening performances to be with his son. “I am absolutely devastated to say that my eldest son Nick is critically ill. As my friends and family know, he has been fighting gastric cancer for the last 18 months and Nick is now hospitalised,” he told BroadwayWorld. “I therefore have not been able to attend the recent previews of Bad Cinderella and as things stand, I will not be able to cheer on its wonderful cast, crew and orchestra on Opening Night this Thursday.”

Daniel Radcliffe, 33, is about to be a dad! His girlfriend Erin Darke, 38, is pregnant, his rep confirmed to HollywoodLife on Saturday March 25. The confirming come a day after the actor and the actress were photographed as they walked side by side in New York City, NY as she showed off her baby bump. The duo engaged in conversation while wearing casual outfits. He also carried a bag that indicated they may have been shopping during the outing.

Daniel’s outfit included a dark blue puffer coat, black pants, and black sneakers. He also wore a turquoise, yellow, and gray winter hat. Erin’s outfit included a black and white checkered coat over a black zip-up hoodie, black leggings, and orange suede ankle boots. She also had her hair up and seemed to be makeup-free.

Daniel and Erin’s outing and baby news comes as they’ve been dating for more than a decade. The lovebirds first met on the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2012 and hit it off right away. The smitten Harry Potter star talked about meeting Erin, in an interview with Peopl2 in 2020, according to Daily Mail.

“It’ll be a hell of a story to tell our kids one day because of what our characters do with each other,” he joked, referring to a sex scene the couple has in the film. “Our characters are meeting and flirting with each other, so there is this kind of sweet record of us just meeting for the first time and flirting.”

Erin also reportedly told People that she and Daniel bonded over “how much we really love what we do, and there’s something that’s really beautiful and really lovely about being with someone who just innately understands that about you. We’re both incredibly supportive of the other person’s career.”

Both Daniel and Erin have led successful acting careers over the years. He’s known for the Harry Potter films as well as recent hit films like Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. She’s also starred in popular features like Still Alice, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Good Girls Revolt.

Who Is Erin Darke?

Although Erin Darke might not be quite as famous as her partner, who skyrocketed to fame when he was a preteen in the first installment of the Harry Potter film franchise, she is just as much a respected and beloved actor and creative. Erin, born September 10, 1984, is an actress. The star got her start in a number of guest and small, supporting roles in film and TV. By the mid-2010s, Erin’s star was quickly on the rise. She began to get more work in major projects like the TV show Good Girls Revolt and in the 2018 series Dietland. Very little is known about Dan’s past romantic history beyond what he has openly shared. The actor was launched into the limelight when he was barely a teenager. As such, many of the close relationships that Dan has cultivated and maintained throughout his life have been through his work on the Harry Potter films and projects since the final film came out in July 2011. In the early 2010s, he started dating Rosie Coker, whom he met on the set of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part II. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Erin and Dan have been quarantining together in their Manhattan apartment. As for the couple’s future after almost a decade together, they’re more than content with where they stand now, and don’t feel the pressure to give in to marriage rumors. “We’re at the point now where I’ve seen my own wedding reported several times,” Erin told Vulture in March 2020.
